Dokk started the way many great ideas do. With a simple solution to a complex problem.

It was 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic. Like millions of others, we were adapting to a new way of working. Living rooms became offices, dining tables turned into desks, and suddenly, long hours of sitting in the wrong chair or hunching over a laptop weren’t just uncomfortable, but they became the cause of a real problem. Office related pain and injuries. We know, it sounds kind of funny, 'how can one injure themselves sitting all day?', you might be asking. But it’s true. The human body isn’t designed to sit for hours in an weird and uncomfortable position. When we do sit for hours, it can lead to all sorts of real issues. From back pain to wrist discomfort, and more.

As we saw this problem, we were eager to find a solution. It all started with a team of two. One kinesiologist and one engineer. One that studied the science of how the body moves and how it came to injuries, and the other that could build and find the proper solutions.

Our first solution was a simple standing desk converter. It wasn’t fancy, but it worked. It got people moving, and it helped reduce the strain of sitting all day. From there, everything grew quickly. We realized that a healthy workspace needs more than just one fix. So we began designing and curating a full range of ergonomic tools. Now we offer a solution for everyone. We offer desks, chairs, laptop stands, even desk mats and other accessories to help people feel better, work smarter, and move more.

That’s how Dokk was born.
